Fifth Grade Renews the Westfield Atrium
During the 2024-2025 school year, our fifth grade teachers and students set out to renew the Westfield Atrium, turning it into a functional and beautiful learning space. Mr. Wise led the initial transformation by removing eight-foot-tall bushes, installing a water system, and preparing the ground for new life.
Mrs. Lorscheider and the fifth grade teachers purchased a variety of plants, along with fertilizer and a compost bin to keep the garden healthy. On April 22, Earth Day, students and teachers worked together to plant everything, beginning a journey of growth and discovery.
The garden soon flourished, producing vegetables that students sold to raise funds for the garden’s future. Thanks to this teamwork, Westfield now enjoys a thriving outdoor learning space and a productive garden.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality! If you would like to donate to the future of this garden, please use this link:
