Our 8th grade A.L.L. History and English students made an incredible showing at the National History Day Regional Contest this past Saturday! Since August, these students have been hard at work researching, designing, and perfecting their projects—and their dedication truly paid off.
This year was especially exciting, as we celebrated the largest number of state qualifiers in our school’s history! We could not be more proud of their achievement.
The following students were named VHMS winners, and will advance to the state contest in April:
Group Exhibit: Chicago World Fair
Bentlee B., Katie A., Olivia H.
Group Website: The Invention of Instant Replay
Adam W., Johnny B.
Individual Website: Simone de Beauvoir and Western Feminism
Tia S.
Individual Website: The Battle of Midway
Kaelyn B.
We also want to recognize these students for earning a Judge’s Recognition Award:
Paper: The Salt March of 1930
Pari G.
Paper: The Russian Revolutions of the Early Twentieth Century
Zachary J.
Please take a moment to congratulate these outstanding students on their well-earned success—and wish them the best of luck as they move on to the state competition!
