Hello Mountain Trails Elementary!
My name is Adam Huffaker and I am the principal of Mountain Trails Elementary!
Let me tell you a little about myself! I grew up in Springville, Utah where I graduated from high school. I am the oldest of three, one sister and one brother. Both my mother and sister are teachers, my father was a general contractor and my brother is in college. I enjoy camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, movies, video games and woodworking. I am a huge Star Wars and superhero movie fan, come talk to me about it! I also enjoy working with technology and learning the ins and outs of different devices.
My beautiful wife Julie and I met in college and have four children together, Allison, Christopher, Sophie, and Link. We currently live in Lehi. We love to camp, go on walks to the park, ride bikes, play video games, and watch movies together.
I received an associate's degree from Utah Valley University, then went to Brigham Young University where I received a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership. I have taught 3rd and 6th grades, but have had teaching experiences in all grade levels. I have been an intern coach (partnership facilitator), an instructional coach, and an innovative learning coach. I have been an assistant principal at 3 different schools over the past 4 years.
I am so thrilled to be a part of the Mountain Trails family! I truly believe that education can change people for the better. I am, and always will be, a teacher at heart. Kids are what matter most and they emulate the best in all of us. I also believe in having fun! If we aren’t smiling at school, then we are doing something wrong!
