Lake Mountain School District is kicking off its “24 Schools in 24 Weeks” series with Pony Express Elementary, Home of the Riders!

Over the coming weeks, LMSD will highlight each of the 24 schools that make up our district, celebrating the students, educators, programs, and communities that make each school unique.

Pony Express Elementary serves students from preschool through sixth grade and offers programs designed to support both academic growth and student well-being.

One of those programs is W.I.N., which stands for “What I Need.” Through this schoolwide initiative, every grade level has a dedicated 30-minute block each day, supported by six reading aides and a reading interventionist. This time allows students to receive focused support based on their individual learning needs.

Pony Express also supports student well-being through the Triple R Ranch, a staffed wellness room where students have a space to decompress, regulate, and prepare to return to class ready to learn.

These programs reflect the commitment of Pony Express educators and staff to meeting students where they are and providing the support they need to grow, learn, and succeed.

Pony Express is just the beginning. Throughout “24 Schools in 24 Weeks,” we’ll continue sharing a closer look at the people, programs, and learning environments that make each LMSD school special.
