Summer Reading
Reading every day is a joy, especially in the summer. Why not explore Sora? This summer is a great time to access Sora and read electronically.
Some reading ideas
One book at a time: Select engaging titles—many from the annual Battle of the Books list—for students who want to get a head start on next spring’s competition.
Book Talks: Students are encouraged to discuss their reading with their family and friends, building confidence as readers and thinkers.
Family read‑aloud option: If your child isn’t yet reading independently, please enjoy the book together at home. Reading aloud lets young learners join the discussion and creates meaningful family time around a shared story.
Our goal is to continue nurturing a lifelong love of books, strengthening literacy skills, and fostering empathy as students walk in a character’s shoes. Most importantly, it connects our children to stories and to one another through rich conversation.
Thank you for supporting the adventure of reading. We can’t wait to dive into great books with your children when we return to school next month!
Happy summer reading!
