Alpine School District supports the 9/11 Day of Service sponsored by the City of Saratoga Springs.
"The 9/11 Day of Service brings Saratoga Springs together to give back. Each year our community rolls up our sleeves to help in ways that matter most, gathering supplies for school pantries, paying down student lunch debt, and working side by side on projects right on our school campuses," said Board Member Joylin Lincoln.
Community members can sign up to volunteer at: www.justserve.org/SaratogaSprings911dayofservice
"Being a part of service in our community extends the reach, magnifies the effect, and deepens the relationship of those serving together," said Superintendent Rob Smith.
Opportunities for this coming day of service include:
painting the playground at Springside Elementary School
assembling gift bags for first responders
weeding and harvesting in the Harvest Hills community garden
assembling birthday box kits for children in need
collecting food, hygiene, and clothing items for the Westlake pantry
"The strength of our schools comes from the families and businesses in our community. In turn, a part of the strength of our community comes from the strength and success of our schools," added Smith.
