Alpine School District educators continue their long-standing partnership with the Alpine School District Foundation and DonorsChoose to bring critical learning resources directly into local classrooms. For years, this ongoing effort has connected district teachers directly with parents and community members seeking transparent, impactful ways to fund specific classroom needs.
"Our goal at the Foundation is to ensure that every educator and student in Alpine School District has access to extraordinary learning experiences," said Tyler Vigue, Director of the Alpine School District Foundation. "By teaming up with DonorsChoose, we give our community a direct, transparent way to see where their dollars go and watch the immediate impact in local schools."
Connecting Donors Directly to Classroom Needs
Educators across the district continuously post new projects that rely on community support to enhance daily learning. Through the platform, donors can browse specific classroom requests submitted by local teachers, ranging from STEM supplies to flexible seating.
"My goal is to create a colorful and welcoming classroom environment where students feel a sense of belonging while developing independence, communication, collaboration, and learning skills," explained Mrs. DuShane, a teacher in Eagle Mountain raising money for a new rug. "This rug will become a daily part of our classroom community and give my students a place to learn together, enjoy books, share ideas, and build positive relationships."
Transforming Learning Spaces Across the District
When community members support these initiatives, every dollar goes directly toward purchasing materials that stay in local classrooms. Teachers across the district express deep gratitude for the parental and community support that transforms their learning spaces year after year.
“I am hoping to get new pencils, glue sticks, stickers, and some small toys to put in my treasure box. I am also hoping to get some books for my social-emotional lessons.” Said Mr. Marcano at Fox Hollow Elementary. “I am getting a few books about family, about how to face challenging situations like starting school and not knowing anyone, and about how to identify feelings and what to do when overwhelmed with them.”
